Head Coach: Harrison Calhoun
Coaching Experience: 4 years
Teaching Experience: Norris Middle School 8th Grade Social Studies
College Attended: Lincoln Memorial University (Ran Cross Country and Track for four years)
Major: History/Education K-12
Bio: I grew up in Anderson County and have taught in the county, at Norris Middle School, for 4 years. I married my wife Sarah, also a teacher at NMS, last October and we live in Norris. My years of running in high school, college, and on my own have not only prepared me for coaching track but has also made me excited for it every season and looking towards the future of the program. I love the meets, even the ones where we are there all day. I love running back and forth across the track cheering on my athletes and being the most obnoxious/loudest coach out there.
Message from Coach Calhoun:
The thing that I love about track is that it is one of the few sports where it doesn’t matter what your height or size is. You get out what you put in. To be the best you have got to want it more than anything else out there and you give it your all to get the time, height, or the distance that you want. Watching all our athletes place 3rd or higher at last years state shows how hard the kids want to be successful at there events no matter how many they run in one meet.
